WHY DESIGN THINKING?
There’s no one right way to design. Re-thinking and re-innovating – is the essence of any business and inevitably takes you outside our comfort zone. Design thinking is the fastest, cheapest and has the most accurate methodology to add value to your activities, solve issues in a constructve, long term way. Excellence, hapiness in business, freedom should be desired before it is created. Design thinking gets you there step by step.
And it’s for everyone, for the sake of our planet.
Discover, focus, imagine, prototype, try and share.
It isn’t a precise set of steps or a recipe, but I use a MIT representation of the process that helps create a common language to get us started. Design thinking is an approach to problem solving when we don’t fully understand what the problem is and we can’t anticipate what solutions might look like in advance. troughout my career I used design thinking to add value to a service, to create new products, new business models, solve communication issues, find a new logotype, develop a new app, create an Art piece, even to cook a new receipt. It’s my mindset.
Flare & Focus Waves
Another useful way to think about design thinking is as alternating periods of flare and focus (MIT designation). In this process my job as a designer is to expand the thinking as widely as possible, to take in lots of new ideas and information, and to quickly imagine sets of different approaches and solutions.
At other parts of the process, it’s
important to narrow down those ideas
and address one particular challenge
with one particular solution.. Human and planet centred. Like a Wave.
